Strasbourg, France

Prior to spending Christmas 2018 in Paris I was fortunate to have a three-day pre-Christmas break in Strasbourg.  The old part of the city is located on an island surrounded by Ill river and a canalised arm of the river, Canal du Faux-Rempart.  Walking around the cobbled streets sipping mulled wine from one of the Christmas market vendors was the perfect way to take in the sights and soak up the culture.
